The Sports Information Desk includes an integrated statistic
system to track both player and team game statistics (Team Edition only).
Suitable for both high school and youth sport teams, this feature
displays player and special team statistics, calculating average and
cumulative totals on the fly. A variety of
statistic reports
are included along with a a chart that dynamically displays
statistics to better visualize performance trends. A standard
library of sport packages is included and you can create/modify a
sport package to meet your own needs.
Note:
For college level teams that already use an NCAA approved statistics
software program, this feature can be disabled. Your statistics
software's reports can easily be included in a Season using SID's
external documents feature.
The Statistics panel
Associated with each game is a set
of up to twenty sports specific game statistics for the profiled player.
The statistics are contained within the Sport package that is assigned to
the player.
The default view is to display the
statistics for the currently selected individual game.
However, within the game statistics panel there are two buttons labeled
Cum and Avg. Click on the Cum
button to display cumulative statistics for the Season as of the currently
selected game. Click on the button
labeled Avg to see averages per game as of the currently highlighted game.
The cumulative and average
statistics are generated based on your specification of what types of games to
include. By using the game
schedule's popup context menu you can select the type of games to include.
Choices include:
The selected "Statistics Category" is also used to control
the data included in the player and team reports. This enables you to
create separate reports that summarize your statistical game data for your
conference, non-conference and other types of games.
You can display a hint message describing the statistic by moving your mouse cursor over
the statistic label.
Multiple Sport Packages per player
In some sports, it is common for an individual to play
multiple positions, each of which requires different statistics. To support this
requirement, you can assign up to three (3) sport packages to a player.
Selecting a different package from the dropdown menu, will update the statistics
panel to display the labels associated with the selected sport package and the
values stored in SID's internal database.
Team Sport Packages
The SID Team Edition also supports Team
sport packages. These sport packages generally contain special non-player
team statistics (e.g., team scoring by quarter, firstdowns, 3rd down
conversions, etc.).
As highlighted in the User Interface
topic for the Sports Information Desk, you can view team statistics by clicking
the dropdown list at the top of statistics panel and selecting "Team
Information" from the dropdown list. The statistics panel then shows the
team statistics associated with the currently assigned team sport
package.
Team sport packages are identical to player sport packages and are modified and
assigned in the same way as player sport packages. One difference,
however, is that the Sports Information Desk provides a "virtual" team sport package named
<player package> that is designed to automatically rollup all player
statistics (using the active player package for the profiled player) to a team
total. If the
<player package> team sport package is assigned and active, the statistic
panel will display the player sport package, but use the team totals for each
game statistic.
The
<player package> team sport package is automatically assigned to the
Sport Package 1 "slot" when the a new team is first created. You can
assign another team sport package in its place, should you choose to do so.
Finally, note that the statistic values for the team
<player package> are calculated and cannot be directly modified.
